Mini Wedding Cakes
Imagine this: you love chocolate, your fiancé loves vanilla. Uncle Willie is allergic to nuts. Your Godmother hates icing. What’s a bride to do when it comes to choosing a wedding cake that everyone will like? Serve cupcakes. Or mini cheesecakes.
The hot new trend in weddings has bakeries abuzz and for good reason: they’re portable, don’t require plates and forks, can be made in multiple flavors to suit multiple tastes (pun intended) and they are a heck of a lot easier to transport from bakery to wedding – look ma, no more tiers! Brides can serve a wider selection of flavors and, because they can be self-served, guests don’t even have to wait for the cake to be cut and served. Voila! Instant happiness.
Wedding Gift Shopping Made Simple!
Have you heard the news? There is a whole new way to deal with wedding gift selection!
Officially launched earlier this year, Tailored.co is changing the way people shop for weddings as the first online personalized shopping
site where brides can discover and purchase products and services that match their unique style and budget.
Tailored is the ONLY place online where brides can find and collect inspiration, browse wedding products hand-selected just for them, create lists of their favorite finds, and share their picks with family and friends, all in one place – an online bridal resource to discover, shop, share!
Tailored is a members-only platform where brides not only discover new brands and up-and-coming designers, but also get personalized recommendations on products and services based on their taste, budget, and wedding-planning needs.
The personalized experience begins at sign-up with a quick and easy interactive quiz. Unlike other inspirationally driven platforms, all of the items and services that are shared on Tailored can be purchased, allowing users to easily buy the items that are inspiring them. With over 160 affiliates, Tailored will offer the largest wedding catalog online – proud to feature products from such national retailers as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, The Knot, and Sandals Resorts, among many others!
In addition to aggregating personalized recommendations, Tailored creates a platform where brides can follow users with similar tastes and engage with their family and friends to gain instant feedback through sharing their curated lists. An easy way to keep the entire bridal party involved without dragging the crew all over town!

Post Wedding Post
Jessica Piscitelli, of Jessica Pi Productions, explains what happens with your video after your wedding!
One question I get asked a lot is what’s involved in editing a wedding video? The short answer? A lot!
The first thing I do is contact the happy newlyweds. I talk to them, post honeymoon, about the day’s events. Were there any moments that stood out that absolutely have to be highlighted? Were there any people whose actions might need to be downplayed? Did you love every word the priest, rabbi or officiant spoke, or could we cut out that section about exactly how many children you should be having? And, of course, what music do you want for all the montages in your video?
Once I get a few simple, but important, answers to how you want your wedding video edited, I capture and log all the footage. This basically just means I go through all 4, 6 or 8 hours of footage I shot, get it all into my editing system, and organize it by which camera, what part of the wedding day, and what type of footage it is.
Then comes the fun part. When I edit a wedding video, I really am trying to tell your story. I open the first montage with an establishing shot to set the stage – whether it’s a shot of the program, a shot of the church, or a shot of the bride’s house – this is where this story begins. Then we introduce all the main characters and establish what they are doing before the moment when the wedding march begins.
The ceremony pretty much writes itself. After finding out how much and which parts of the ceremony the couple would like included, I just have to choose the best shots for each second of footage, and, of course, level the audio from the microphones on the grooms lapel and around the room.
Check out these two clips from an outdoor ceremony at Whitehall Manor. The first shows just one camera angle and is unedited.
The second one shows the edited version utilizing both camera’s footage.

Don’t Bust Your Budget: Bergerons Wedding Flowers Calculator
Planning your big day? The last thing you want to do is bust your budget. Wedding budgets are about as diverse as the people who are making them – from the simplistic to the extremely extravagant.
Looking for a simple way to find flowers that fit into your budget? Check out Bergerons Wedding Flowers Calculator – an easy tool to determine which flowers fit into your budget.
Our Wedding Flowers Calculator allows you to get an idea of how much you’ll be spending on flowers for your wedding, before you even come into our shop. The spreadsheet will automatically calculate total costs according to the quantity you estimate for each item. The spreadsheet includes categories for economy flowers, most popular flowers and more expensive flowers.
Many of you ask, “Which flowers fit into each category”? Well, that can depend. If you were concentrating chrysanthemums, dianthus (carnations), alstroemeria (Peruvian lily), or asters~these would more or less be considered in the economy price point. So, if at any point you mix these flowers with some of the more expensive flowers, then you would be lowering the cost of your flowers. Roses, freesia, gerbera, tulips, etc. are considered among the most popular (medium) price point. And, just to name a few of the higher price point flowers~we have orchids, calla lilies, peonies, and hydrangea to round out the list. Although, there are hundreds of flowers to choose from, this will give you just a snippet of what each category includes.
Keep in mind that while the Wedding Flowers Calculator is a useful tool for estimating and calculating a floral budget, it doesn’t take the place of an in-depth consultation with our knowledgeable bridal designers. It is, however, a good place to start when determining cost options.
The Vendors of The Bliss Collection
The Bliss Collection recently staged a wedding in order to show what all of the vendors in the group had to offer – and to present a view of what a “Bliss” wedding would look like.
This video, by Jessica Pi Productions, shows the behind the scenes workings of putting on a wedding.

The Knot Party!
Almost 200 vendors gathered for The Knot’s Bi-Annual Kick-off Party that introduces the newest magazine. A Sound Plan and Bergeron’s Flowers & Events had the opportunity to be the preferred vendors at the party.
The Arabian Knights theme gave Bergeron’s a basis for design which delighted the eye. Blooms of calla lilies, hybrid delphiniums, orchids, roses, anthuriums, celosia Bombay, and lots of other blossoms adorned large structures to give the feel of a faraway time. A Sound Plan filled the air with Mediterranean tunes and some fun, current songs that enlivened the evening.
Other Bliss Collection vendors joined the crowd: Myrna from For All Occasions; David Madison from David Madison Photography; and, Alexander from Photography by Alexander.
The evening was a success. Congratulations!

Cake from Kelley & Curt’s Wedding
MallowDrama was delighted to make the wedding cake for Kelley & Curt’s celebration in Gainesville, Virginia, on September 12th.
And we had the pleasure of working with Myrna Grossman of For All Occasions, and fellow member of The Bliss Collection, who planned the wedding for the out-of-town couple.
The wedding had an elegant black and white theme that was carried through in the cake. The couple chose two flavors for their cake: lemon with vanilla buttercream, and chocolate with raspberry preserves and chocolate fudge frosting.
Congratulations, Kelley & Curt!
